The Riverside Vest 💙

I feel like the very little free time I have had lately has been spent knitting, so it felt good to get back into a crochet project.

The Riverside Vest was designed by Erin - Tech Editor - Yarn Dyer for A Woolen Affair and I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak and test it.

Even though the pattern calls for fi*****ng weight yarn the vest is pretty quick to make, and the stripes are a great opportunity to stash bust and play with color.

The yarn is also by Erin on her silk sock base. The main color is The Longest Night and the stripes are Aurora Borealis.

I finally decided on border colors and finished the blanket!! 👏

I think adding green drew your eye too much to the stems instead of the other features of the blanket so I decided to leave it out.

I also had a couple of suggestions to add white in somehow to the border and I think that is what I was missing!

I’m glad that it is done and can go to its new owner!

I’m still deciding what I want the border to look like. I think by the time I’m done I’ll have spent more time on the border than the actual blanket 😂

Yesterday my seven month old snuggled up with his Autumn Acorn Baby Blanket and I couldn’t help but get some photos.

I think baby blankets are one of the best things to make. You can play with colors, textures, and usually they don’t take too long to make.

Meet the Autumn Acorn Baby Blanket!!

Based on the same design as my table runner pattern, this baby blanket showcases my favorite stitch with some extra detail on the border.

Start with the moss stitch in turned rows, then add a special border featuring cute little picots.

My favorite look is using a contrasting color for the border, but tomorrow you will see a second sample where I used a variegated yarn for the whole blanket!
