Over the weekend I had the honor of attending the Carbondale Illinois NAACP Freedom Fund Gala. Listening to the speakers talk about the fragility of voting rights and sitting with my Constitutional Law professor from Southern Illinois University Simmons Law School reminded me why I’m running. It’s to ensure all people have the rights afforded to them under the law. If I’m lucky to enough to become the next circuit judge of Jackson county I promise to protect everyone’s rights and treat people fairly. Early voting is open today at the Carbondale civic center, the rest of the week at the SIU student center and every day until Election Day at the Jackson County courthouse. Get out and vote today Jackson county. It’s one of the most cherished rights we have.

From the first handshake to the final stretch, this campaign was powered by the people of Jackson County.

Thank you to everyone who knocked doors, walked in parades, hosted a meet and greet, put up a yard sign, or stopped me at the Apple Festival to tell me what matters to you. Thank you to the volunteers in our navy shirts who showed up in the heat and stayed late. And thank you to every voter who listened, asked tough questions, and gave this campaign a fair hearing.

To my wife and daughters: thank you for your love, your patience, and your unwavering support. None of this would have been possible without you.

From Dowell to Murphysboro to Carbondale and every town in between, meeting so many of you has been an honor. Thank you, Jackson County.

And if you haven’t early voted yet there’s still time!

I began working at Reed Heller when I was just a teenager. Starting at a small business and working my way up taught me the value of hard work, and that's a value I intend to take with me to the bench.

Running a local business means answering to your neighbors every day. Your reputation is everything, and I've spent my career earning mine.

I'm Ben Reed. I'm a local business owner and a family man, and I'm ready to keep working for the people of Jackson County. I'd be honored to have your vote as your next resident circuit judge.

When we vote for a judge, we're not picking a politician. We're choosing someone with the temperament and the legal knowledge to rule fairly.

That's why a consensus of retired and local attorneys and judges endorsed me for Judge and that’s why I earned a 94.4% recommendation rating in the ISBA poll.

I'm Ben Reed. I'm ready to serve Jackson County. I'd appreciate your vote.
