Folks, you really can’t make this stuff up.

The Nacogdoches County Republican Party has produced an “official” voter guide for the November election and somehow managed to create a voter guide that doesn’t accurately reflect who is actually on the ballot.

It includes county commissioners who aren’t even up for election this year, while leaving out candidates in local races, including constable and justice of the peace races that actually ARE on the ballot.

And then there are the typos and formatting mistakes scattered throughout it. For example, apparently we now have a “StateBoard of Education.”

A voter guide has ONE JOB: tell voters who they are voting for.

And this isn’t some forgotten draft sitting on somebody’s computer. This flyer is currently displayed inside Nacogdoches County Republican Party headquarters for voters to see. People walking into Republican headquarters looking for election information are being presented with a guide containing incorrect and incomplete information about their own ballot.

How does an official county party voter guide make it all the way to GOP headquarters without somebody sitting down with the actual certified ballot and checking every single race?

Great job, Brian. You said you could run the party better. Is this better?

I’ve seen longer lines at the Nacogdoches DMV five minutes before closing.

Last ribbon cutting, they needed a wide-angle lens. This time, they could’ve taken attendance by name.

The Nacogdoches County Republican Party is holding its grand opening on September 21.
That raises a few questions:
The previous Nacogdoches County Republican Party held its grand opening on August 16. Why is the new party waiting until September 21—just 28 days before early voting begins on October 19?

And another question: Why is this announcement being posted on a page that is not the official Nacogdoches County Republican Party page?
With the November election approaching, voters and Republicans in Nacogdoches County deserve clear and transparent communication about who is speaking on behalf of the county party, where official information is being published, and why important events are being announced where they are.

These are reasonable questions for anyone involved in the local Republican Party to ask.

The Nacogdoches County Democratic Party is sponsoring a political club at SFA to organize student voters, keep them informed, and turn them out for the November election.

They’re putting people in a room, building a student organization, and actively working to win votes.

Meanwhile, what is Brian Fitzgerald doing?

Nothing.

This is exactly what a political party is supposed to be doing: organizing, recruiting, engaging voters, and building a grassroots operation. If Democrats are willing to show up on campus and organize students, Republicans should be asking why we aren’t doing the same.

You don’t win elections by sitting around and hoping people vote for you. You win by organizing.

The Nacogdoches County Democratic Party has been at SFA registering students to vote for the upcoming midterms. What has Brian Fitzgerald done to address this? He’s certainly not on campus …

I loved being on SFA campus today, meeting students and registering them to vote. They’re strong and ready for change!

We have obtained photos of the new Nacogdoches County GOP Headquarters, and quite frankly, it looks depressing.

It has been 11 days since the last CEC meeting, yet the headquarters still does not appear ready to welcome voters. There are no Republican signs, no campaign materials and, frankly, no signs of life at all.

This is supposed to be a year-round headquarters for the Republican Party in Nacogdoches County. Our voters and volunteers deserve a headquarters that is visible, welcoming and active.

Compare these photos with the headquarters previously used. The difference could not be clearer. The former location looked like a Republican headquarters. It had signs, energy, activity and people. The new location looks empty and forgotten.

You get what you pay for. What a shame.

Good job, Brian!

The 3½ Hour Tour: A Parliamentary Gilligan’s Island

Sit right back and you’ll hear a tale of a meeting that sailed past sunset, lost passengers along the way, and searched for the elusive shore of adjournment.

The Nacogdoches County Republican Party had its Organizational meeting on Thursday evening, starting at 5:30 and lasting until past 9:00 pm.

Featuring the Chair, the Skipper, Gilligan, and 40 Pounds of Agenda Items.

18 Precinct Chairs Entered… Only the Strong Survived the 3½ Hour Parliamentary Seas.

As the evening wore on, precinct chairs and audience members began quietly disappearing like castaways searching for a way off the island.

Those who remained weren't just trying to
follow parliamentary procedure, they were conducting periodic head counts to make sure a quorum hadn't escaped.

With several agenda items still waiting and the clock well past 9:00 p.m., a precinct chair finally made the motion everyone was secretly rehearsing in their heads:

"I move to adjourn."

The response from Brian?

The remaining business is "pressing."

If it was truly that pressing...it probably deserved its own meeting.

Volunteers donate their time to serve the Party, not audition for an endurance competition. Marathon agendas don't build engagement, they build exit strategies.

Rumor has it this may become a monthly tradition. Future meeting checklist:
✔️ Sack lunch
✔️ Phone charger
✔️ Seat cushion
✔️ Caffeine
✔️ Backup phone charger
✔️ Overnight bag (just in case)

And so ends this episode of The 3½ Hour Tour — where the agenda was endless, the passengers were dwindling, and the only thing missing was a rescue boat named “Adjournment.”

The contrast could not be clearer. The Nacogdoches County Democratic Party has already held multiple public meetings and events focused on the November elections, bringing in speakers, engaging voters, and preparing for the campaign ahead.

Meanwhile, under Brian Fitzgerald’s leadership, the Nacogdoches County Republican Party has failed to hold a single public meeting with speakers, elected officials, grassroots training, or any meaningful outreach. Not one.

While the opposition is organizing, educating, and mobilizing, our county party has been absent. Republicans deserve leadership that is building momentum for victory, not sitting on the sidelines while the election draws closer.

It is incredibly inappropriate for the Treasurer of the Nacogdoches County Republican Party to publicly label duly elected Republican precinct chairs as “closet Democrats” simply because they raised legitimate concerns about following the rules.

Expecting the bylaws to be followed, parliamentary procedure to be understood, and meetings to be conducted properly does not make someone a Democrat. It makes them a Republican who believes in transparency, accountability, and respecting the governing rules of the party.

If party leadership cannot distinguish between constructive criticism and disloyalty, that reflects a failure of leadership not of the precinct chairs who were elected by Republican voters to represent them.

Republicans should never be smeared as “closet Democrats” for insisting that the party operate according to its own rules. They have both the right and the responsibility to hold party officers accountable when procedures are not being followed.

This kind of rhetoric is beneath the office of Treasurer. Alan Mann should resign in disgrace.
