Well, as you all likely know by now, the election didn't turn out as we hoped. My congratulations go out to Stewart Hyndman and all the others who won their races. Its no simple task to run for office. I feel good about the campaign we ran. We stayed clean, ran an honest race and did our best. I'm proud of what we were able to accomplish in such a short amount of time with no prior election experience. We learned a lot and had some fun along the way. I'm especially grateful for the many people who supported me in this process. People gave their time, money, expertise, energy, sweat, and even a little blood to help me and I can't express the gratitude I feel. The list of people to thank is very long but the one I want to thank most is my wife, Sara. She became my campaign manager and I wouldn't have had a fraction of success if not for her hard work. I sincerely appreciate all of you who were so supportive and encouraging. It meant a lot. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.

I have come across a lot of negativity in this campaign and when I talk with voters, I put it this way: In every campaign there’s a loud, negative minority trying to drag the whole race into the gutter, but they don’t speak for our whole community. I don’t believe we have to reward that behavior, and I refuse to run my campaign that way.
Did you know that CBS Morning News actually researched this about internet trolls and found only 7% are actually doing this? It's a small minority that people pay attention to and the common attributes of the trolling people are loneliness, anger, or desire for power or attention.
Just like we shouldn’t feed internet trolls with our attention, we don’t have to feed political trolls with our votes. I’m asking you to support a different style of leadership: I will make my case firmly but respectfully, focus on real solutions instead of personal attacks, and refuse to bully my way into office. That’s how, together, we can say, “We want leadership, not bullying, and we won’t let a small, angry few set the tone for the rest of us in Canyon County.”
Vote for me with true leadership skills, I am civil, respectful, strategic, analytical, compassionate, and approachable.
