HAVE YOU PURCHASED A GRAPEVINE RECENTLY?
The Napa County Agricultural Commissioner’s Office is asking residents to check whether they purchased a grapevine, citrus tree, or other fruit tree from Napa Costco or nearby Costco locations during April or May.
These plants may be associated with shipments containing the glassy-winged sharpshooter (GWSS), an invasive pest that threatens vineyards and backyard ornamentals.
If you have one of these plants:
• Keep it isolated in its original container.
• Do not move or transport it.
• Do not place it in the trash or compost.
• Contact our office immediately.

Many of you have probably already started to notice the increase in aircraft activity. The BottleRock music festival attracts thousands of spectators from around the country. This year will be no different with a small portion of music fans and bands choosing to arrive by air. The airport will start to receive arrivals on Wednesday, May 20th, 2026 and aircraft activity will be busy throughout the weekend festival. Significant departures from the airport will end on Tuesday, May 26th.

Tal vez ya empezaste a notar que ha aumentado la actividad aérea en estos días. El festival de música BottleRock atrae a miles de espectadores de todo el país. Este año no será diferente, ya que una pequeña parte de los aficionados a la música y de las bandas optará por llegar en avión. El aeropuerto comenzará a recibir vuelos el miércoles 20 de mayo de 2026 y la actividad aérea será intensa durante todo el fin de semana del festival. May has been packed with community events and tours!

A few members and staff of the Flood District went out to tour the NorthBay Aqueduct and Delta. It's important to know where our water comes from, so we can better manage and leverage our resources.

Next, the Berryessa Highlands Community Event was a success. Many County agencies participated and gave some updates about fire preparedness and other topics.

This past Sunday, a graduation was held for the volunteer firefighters from Napa County and Lake County. It was an honor to speak about my personal experience with fires and to celebrate the next generation that will protect our community.

Join us in attending the Berryessa Highlands Community Meeting on Saturday, May 16 from 10am to 12pm at the Capell Valley Volunteer Fire Station (1193 Capell Valley Road, Napa).
