*OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE FAMILY OF SHAWN MARQUS DROMGOOLE II*Â
With deep sorrow, our family announces the unexpected passing of Shawn Marqus Dromgoole II. We take comfort in knowing that he is now held safely in the arms of the Lord.
Shawn was a beloved son, grandson, brother, family member, and friend whose kindness, joy, and light reflected God’s love to everyone around him. He possessed a gentle spirit and a generous heart. His appreciation for fashion, vision for community compassion, and devotion to his family, friends, and church will be missed. We give thanks to God for the years we were granted with him and for the love he so freely shared.
Arrangements to honor Shawn’s life and celebrate his homegoing will be shared when finalized. We are grateful for your continued prayers and expressions of kindness and love.

✨ Nashville, let’s show up together! ✨
On March 14, I’m hosting a table at the HRC Nashville Dinner at the JW Marriott, and I want you sitting with me. This night is all about community, celebration, and standing proudly for equality—plus great energy, great people, and an unforgettable evening in the heart of downtown.
If you’ve ever wanted to be in the room where love, leadership, and purpose collide, this is it. Come laugh, connect, and be part of something bigger than all of us.

This is it, Nashville! The moment is here!
65 years ago, a silent march through our streets changed the course of history. This Saturday, April 19th, we’re retracing those powerful footsteps — and we want YOU there to walk with us.
From the bombing of Z. Alexander Looby’s home to the confrontation at the courthouse, Nashville’s youth ignited a movement that helped desegregate the South. Now it’s our turn to honor that legacy.
Meet us at 11:30 AM at First Baptist Church, Capitol Hill
(900 Nelson Merry Street)
Or join the full original route at 10:15 AM at Hadley Park Library
(1037 28th Ave N)
We’ll walk, we’ll sing, we’ll remember — and we’ll recommit to justice.
History is calling. Are you coming?
