This week CT’s own 1-102nd Infantry competed in the CT SWAT Challenge against 27 of the most elite teams in CT as well as teams from Texas, Ranger Battalion and surrounding states. After a tough competition the 102nd team finished at an all time best 5th place. Thank you for having us for another year and huge congrats to for taking home the win! It’s always an honor to fight it out with these teams each year.

Congrats PVT Coleman for your enlistment as a 15T in the Army National Guard! PVT Coleman will be working on Blackhawks along side the service members who flew down south this year to give aid to those impacted by the hurricanes earlier this year! Looking forward to seeing the impact that this career choice will have have on your life, and the impact you will have helping the community

Congrats to the three newest soldiers of the CT Army National Guard! PVT Barrett, PVT Palafox, and PVT DeCarli made a huge decision this month to serve their state and their country. Can’t wait to see you all come back from training!

Congrats to PVT Keramidas on her enlistment today! And congrats to the recent grads of 2024 PVT Keramidas, Zhuang, and Radecki. PVT Keramidas and PVT Zhuang will be pursuing the simultaneous membership program at CCSU and UConn to train as cadets in ROTC while also training with one of our infantry units to learn from some of the best officers that Connecticut has to offer. As Cadets in the guard they will be given even more money towards college on top of their free tuition and several other benefits!

This past week myself and SPC Halgren were honored to be able to compete in the Regional best warrior competition against the top competitors from each state in the North East. After a tight competition testing our physical and mental abilities I was identified as the North East Non commissioned officer of the year! The next step would be to compete again as one of the top 8 in the nation, but I’ll be stepping down to be able to take care of my newborn. Very honored to have this opportunity and I wish the best of luck to SFC Larter, a recruiter from the Mass Guard who will be taking my place. I know he will kill it

Almost forgot to throw this one into the page! Congrats PVT Lemoine for his enlistment in March! Pvt Lemoine will be joining as a 31B military police officer. He will be using his experience in training to help him obtain a career in corrections and plans to serve for the full 20 years in order to earn a double pension with both jobs! Love seeing people plan ahead and set their futures up for success

This week I had the opportunity to compete against some best Soldiers that the CT Army National Guard has to offer. After days of physical and mental tests I was able to come out on top. We were afforded the opportunity to earn the German proficiency badge and the Norwegian ruck march badge. Thank you to all those I competed with for pushing me to my limits. I’ll be representing CT in the Regional Best Warrior competition in May! Wish me luck!

Congrats PFC Sousa! Sousa and I have been working together for several months, and hitting heavy workouts on Wednesday to get him prepared for his training date! Im looking forward to seeing you crush it at training as a 25U signal support specialist.

Congrats to PVT Batista! He will be training as an 11B Infantryman! And special thanks to SPC Rodriguez a friend of mine from deployment for encouraging his friend PVT Batista to pursue this path. Looking forward to having you join our family.
