Economic development is all about building a community where people and businesses can thrive.

Yesterday’s State of Jefferson, hosted by the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce highlighted some of the meaningful progress happening across Jefferson Parish, from reductions in violent crime and investments in critical infrastructure to greater support for homeowners and a growing sports tourism sector bringing visitors and spending into our community.

Economic development is a team sport, and Jefferson Parish’s continued progress helps create more opportunities for the people and businesses that call our community home. Congratulations to Jefferson Parish, Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, the Jefferson Parish Council, and all of the partners working every day to move our community forward.

Business leaders and public officials packed the Alario Center for the "State of Jefferson" luncheon.

A little peek behind the curtain… 🎩🎶

What does it take to make an economic development musical?

Recording the music ahead of time. Reviewing scripts between takes. Learning dance moves on the fly. Costume changes. A lot of laughs. And a cast and crew willing to fully commit to the bit.

Enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at how our latest JEDCO production came together. 🎬

Our view looks a little different these days. 👀

The new CIRC signage is officially up at the Churchill Innovation & Research Campus (formerly Churchill Park)!

The new brand gives this 480-acre economic development asset a stronger, more recognizable identity as we continue marketing it for future investment. The vision for this campus isn't new. But the way we're telling its story is!

Opportunity starts right here in Jefferson Parish. ⚙️

To celebrate Manufacturing Month, JEDCO joined our partners at Jefferson Parish Schools to give more than 50 Jefferson Parish students an inside look at careers in manufacturing.

At the start of this week, students toured Laitram, Carpenter and Paterson, and Conhagen, experiencing firsthand the people, technology and skills powering some of our community’s leading industries and showcasing the career opportunities available right here at home.

Manufacturing offers high-paying, high-impact career paths for the next generation of our workforce. By connecting students with local employers now, we’re helping them see what’s possible after graduation.

Yesterday, we celebrated a major milestone for Avondale Global Gateway and U.S. trade. 🚢

For the first time in nearly a decade, Venezuelan aluminum arrived in the United States -- through Avondale Global Gateway (T. Parker Host) in Jefferson Parish!

The 15,000-ton shipment marks the reopening of a long-dormant trade corridor and highlights Avondale’s growing role in global commerce and American manufacturing.

Big things are moving through Avondale. 🌎⚓
