At Phoenix Children's Hospital, funding provided through The Toy Foundation is helping bring comfort, joy, and a sense of normalcy to children facing medical challenges. From navigating a new diagnosis to celebrating the end of treatment, this funding helpsp child life specialists support young patients through every step of their journey.

As McKenna Cave, family-centered care coordinator at Phoenix Children's, shared: β€œIt can be hard to feel comfortable in a hospital, and a simple toy can make a big difference. It gives a child something familiar to hold onto, something that brings comfort, and helps the hospital feel a little less intimidating.”

Every toy has the power to turn a difficult moment into one filled with comfort, hope, and a little bit of childhood magic.

Every child deserves a place where they can play, explore, and simply be a kid. ❀️

In Des Moines, Iowa, is making that possible with the help of a grant from The Toy Foundation. A new sensory gym and indoor play space is bringing joy, discovery, and opportunities to build important developmental skills to children receiving outpatient therapy, autism services, and complex medical care.

Since opening in May 2026, hundreds of children have experienced the power of play in this special space.

But there are so many more children who could benefit from spaces like these.

Help The Toy Foundation bring play spaces to more children's hospitals and give children facing medical challenges a chance to laugh, explore, and enjoy the simple joy of being a kid.

300 gift bags were delivered to children in need, with one very special delivery by social media influencer Kaido Lee Roberts through a partnership with Zigazoo.

During The Toy Association's LA Fall Preview Market Weeks, toy industry professionals came together to assemble 300 toy-filled gift bags for pediatric patients at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and children served by The Dream Center.

Kaido personally delivered the bags to CHLA, where he toured the hospital's toy room and an inpatient playroom, and spent time with teen patients in their lounge.

"This was definitely an experience I’ll never forget,” shared Kaido.

❀️ Through The Toy Foundation's Toy Chest program, donated toys from the toy industry are bringing comfort, smiles, and moments of childhood magic to children undergoing medical treatment.

Recently, toys were delivered to A Moment of Magic for a special event supporting children and families affected by DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), a rare and aggressive pediatric brain tumor with very limited treatment options.

A Moment of Magic shared, β€œYour support made a world of a difference. Days like these are such a reminder of how meaningful play and connection can be, particularly for children navigating serious illness."
