2001 marked a tragic year in the history of the FDNY. Between the Father’s Day Fire and 9/11, Firefighter Michael Gorumba of E-163 died on 8/28/2001 as a result of a cardiac event sustained while operating at Staten Island Box 3-3 554. Let’s take a moment to remember the sacrifices of FF Gorumba along with the fallen from Father’s Day and 9/11 in 2001. #2001
