Honoring the Borinqueneers 🇵🇷
April 13th

Today we honor the legacy of the 65th Infantry Regiment, the Borinqueneers, Puerto Rican soldiers who proudly fought under the American flag with courage and determination.

From World War I to World War II, and especially in the Korean War, these warriors showed what it means to serve with honor. In fierce battles like Outpost Kelly and Jackson Heights, they stood strong, fought bravely, and never backed down.

Their commitment to duty, brotherhood, and country left a permanent mark on history. Heroes like Master Sergeant Juan E. Negrón, who gave his life in Korea and received the Medal of Honor, represent the strength and pride of the Borinqueneers.

Their service was later recognized with the Congressional Gold Medal, honoring a unit whose bravery and loyalty will never be forgotten.

Today we celebrate their pride, their sacrifice, and their unwavering dedication to America.
