Embassy of Tacos

I was in need of a snack and happened upon in NYC. I grabbed a rajas con queso and it made my afternoon. Took a couple to take on the plane. We all need more tamales in our lives. They were eaten all over the States forever and ever, but eventually we're considered "dirty"🫔. Bring back the Tamales!

Me tope con en la gran manzana. Me hacía falta un bocadillo antes de la cena y me tocó suerte porque la de rajas con queso estaba muy bueno. Antes se vendían tamales en todas las ciudades de los unites pero luego dijieron que no eran "sanitarios". Ya hace falta que regrese el Tamal.

There are quite a few places selling Mexican food in Ethiopia 🇪🇹. The majority sell classic tacos (as opposed to hard shell or "indoor" tacos) 🌮, burritos 🌯, and quesadillas.

Checked out Village Cafe in Addis Ababa. The corn tortillas were great, and the flour tortillas were better than most I have had outside of SW USA/ NW Mex. Seriously, they should be proud. The beans were delicious and plenty of vegetarian options. Their salsas have been adapted for Ethiopia, but they were excellent, and I appreciate the Ethiopian flare. Very spicy 🔥 (which we ❤️)

The Mushque tacos are uniquely Guatemala and we're excellent. Try them!

The mercado central in Guatemala city had great antojos to try. This is a chicarron tortilla. It's eaten exactly like a taco. Remember that they can avocado to anything.

This fish taco was great! So was the Barbacoa! They had a day of the dead menu and happen to come dressed for the occasion.

These shrimp tostadas we're excellent and on the Happy Hour menu (till 8:01)! The salsas we're good too, but might need to ask for them.

Now that many are returning to their offices, get yourself an electric griddle and put it in your break room. No more microwave tortillas!
