This week I had the pleasure of welcoming members from the Little Yemen community to the Assembly Chamber as we passed a resolution recognizing Yemeni American Heritage Day in the State of New York.

My statement on last night’s fire on Morris Park Ave.
COMMUNITY UPDATE:
This morning, a vehicle was discovered abandoned in the Morris Park neighborhood, specifically near Lydig and Hone Avenue. The vehicle had a shattered back window and a broken mirror.
Upon notifying the NYPD 49 Precinct, they promptly responded, assessing the situation and facilitating the vehicle's removal. It was determined that the car had been stolen from its owner in Brooklyn. After being spotted in the Bronx, NYPD initiated a pursuit, leading the perpetrator to abandon the vehicle at the scene. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and the investigation is ongoing.
I want to extend my gratitude to our dedicated Community Affairs team for their swift action in addressing this situation.
