Great to meet with NYPD Commissioner today, and discuss initiatives to keep New Yorkers safe. Thankful for everything police officers do for our city.
It was great to learn about tools and technology used to detect and prevent threats like the one we saw this past weekend.

Chain restaurants contribute to health issues by offering items with extreme levels of sodium/sugar. New Yorkers deserve to know what theyre consuming, so they can make good decisions related to their health. Today, the health committee heard my two bills to help do exactly that.

Over the past five years, NYC has lost between 29 and 52 New Yorkers each year due to freezing weather. Keeping New Yorkers safe is one of the most important duties of city government. Last week, we held a hearing on Code Blue operations. I also joined NY1/Inside City Hall to discuss.

We must fix our street vending system. Street vendors work tirelessly to support their families - and should be able to do so without living in fear of fines, confiscations, and harassment.
Proud to have rallied w. CM Pierina Sanchez, Street Vendor Project, and colleagues in govt, calling for the fair system they deserve.

Thank you NYPD for collaborating on many Thanksgiving distributions throughout the district. When it comes to supporting communities, we’re in this together! 🚔🚓

Great to spend time hanging out with seniors at Serviam Gardens, and ensuring they have everything they need for this Thanksgiving!

I brought $2 million to renovate the Crotona Parkway Malls, and renovations have already started. It’s a privilege to fight for & deliver for the people of the Bronx! 🌳

Tomorrow, I will be co-chairing a joint oversight hearing of the Committee on Women and Gender Equity, alongside the Committees on Contracts and Small Business, to examine the status of New York City’s Minority and Women owned Business Enterprise certification program, and to hear my bill Resolution 281, calling on the Mayor's Office to identify and implement measures to reduce disparities faced by businesses owned by women of color in obtaining and fulfilling public contracts.

Oversight Hearing: Status of Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) Certification Program
Date: Tuesday, November 18, 2025
Time: 10:00 AM
Location: 250 Broadway, 8th Floor (Hearing Room 2)

New York City is home to thousands of diverse small businesses, yet persistent disparities in contracting continue to limit opportunity for many M/WBE firms, particularly those owned by women, Black New Yorkers, Hispanic New Yorkers, Asian New Yorkers, and other historically underserved groups.

Tomorrow’s hearing will bring forward testimony from the Mayor’s Office of Contract Services, the Department of Small Business Services, the Mayor’s Office of M/WBEs, the Mayor’s Office of Nonprofit Services, the Office of the Comptroller, small business advocates, and members of the public to assess the progress of the program and the barriers that remain.

I encourage business owners, advocates, and community stakeholders to join us as we work to strengthen equity, transparency, and access within the City’s procurement process and ensure meaningful opportunities for M/WBEs across all sectors. I am committed to providing a voice to our small business community to advocate for the strength of our city's support.

A pie with 11,000mg of sodium is NOT a pizza pie. It’s a sodium pie. 🍕🧂
I introduced a bill to require stricter warnings on high-sodium meals, so that New Yorkers can know what’s in the food they consume and can make informed decisions.

11/12/2025

Today, I introduced legislation to require clear transparency re: excess sodium on chain restaurant menu items. The CDC recommends no more than 2300mg of sodium per day, but some restaurants offer meals with nearly 11,000mg. These restaurants are literally killing their customers!

Bronx: heat season has begun, which means your landlord must provide heat! If heat/hot water isn't being provided, call 311! 😉
