Grateful to the Center for an Urban Future for bringing together leaders and stakeholders for yesterday’s forum and important conversation. Honored to serve as a panelist and discuss the work ahead to build stronger, safer, and more equitable communities for all New Yorkers, particularly our mom and pop businesses.

I am honored and deeply grateful to have been recognized by the St. John’s University Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa as an Educator of the Year, alongside so many outstanding leaders and changemakers dedicated to supporting the next generation.
I remain committed to investing in our schools, supporting our educators, and fighting to ensure every child, regardless of background or zip code, has access to the opportunities they deserve.
Thank you to Dr. Rosa Smith-Norman, the board, and the members of Phi Delta Kappa for this meaningful recognition. Congratulations to all this year’s outstanding honorees. 💙📚✨

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation, protecting our freedom. May we never forget their sacrifice, and may we continue to protect and strengthen our democracy in their honor. Freedom is not free.

Even on the road, fans show up strong! Great to join many of my partners in government at for a watch party as we cheered on the Knicks together. The energy in the building was electric—proof that New York pride travels wherever our team goes.

This weekend we celebrated “Weah Day 2026” alongside the Rosedale Rockets Soccer Club, families, community leaders, and supporters, honoring hometown star Timothy Weah ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
Timothy’s journey from the soccer fields of Rosedale to representing our country on the global stage is a powerful reminder to every young person in our community that their dreams are possible.
A special thank you to the Clar HOPE Foundation, the Weah family, Michael Duncan, the Rosedale Rockets, coaches, alumni, volunteers, and everyone who helped make this celebration unforgettable. Southeast Queens showed up with pride, love, and energy for one of our own.

Today, we proudly welcomed the start of another summer season at Rockaway Beach. ☀️🌊
As we celebrate all that makes the Rockaways special, we also keep Brandon Figueroa and his loved ones in our prayers following this week’s tragic event. His loss is a heartbreaking reminder that water safety saves lives.
I remain committed to investing in swim-safety initiatives, expanding access to swimming lessons, strengthening drowning-prevention efforts, and continuing the fight for trauma care in Far Rockaway. As beach season begins, please swim only when lifeguards are present, follow beach safety guidance, and look out for one another. Stay safe this summer. 💙
