RSVP: No NBK Pipeline Earth Week Art Demonstration
Hey Martin,
Last week we let you know the enraging news that instead of investing in us and setting a clear path of climate action, Governor Hochul chose to strip a gas ban from the budget this year, all while funding a stadium for the Buffalo Bills, owned by a fracking billionaire.
The latest IPCC report made it very clear how important the next 2 ½ years are for the climate fight. New York failed on climate action in the budget, but can still take critical climate action over the next couple months by denying permits and rate hikes for fracked gas projects, and passing climate policy before the legislative session ends June 2.
Over 500 New Yorkers have stood up to National Grid and joined the Gas Bill Strike. It’s time Governor Hochul and her administration stand up to the utilities too.
That’s why we are gathering in Union Square during Earth Week with some incredible art to call on Governor Hochul to stand with the people and strike back against the climate destruction of corporate utilities like Con Ed and National Grid!
RSVP: Wednesday April 20 from 12pm - 2pm
The steps facing 14th Street @ Union Square
Show up any time from 12-2pm to be a part of this art demonstration, send a message to Governor Hochul and help us educate and mobilize people at Union Square! We will be helping people to tweet on the spot, sign postcards to her, we’ll be holding beautiful banners high and making noise to tell Hochul that time is running out! We need your help to do this!
You can bet Con Ed and National Grid will be doing some greenwashing during Earth Week. Big non-profits will “applaud” some incremental steps from the Hochul administration.
Be a part of the movement that’s demanding that our Earth Day policy listen to climate science and the people of New York who refuse to rack up utility debt to pay for fracked gas projects that perpetuate environmental racism and fuel the climate crisis.
With love and people POWER!

Where We Stand - Socialist Action By JEFF MACKLER Serious political analysis on the left always begins with the facts. Substituting abstract theory not based on facts is always a dead end for the socialist movement.
