It was great to attend NY STEAM Day at the Capitol and meet with the incredible students and innovators from Nova Bots and the Forest Hills Robotics League. From robotics demonstrations to conversations about the future of STEM education, these students showcased the creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills that will shape the next generation of technology and engineering. Proud to support programs that expand access to STEAM education and inspire young people to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.

I’m grateful for the work Save the Sound does to safeguard clean air, clean water, & resilient habitats, helping ensure a healthier and more sustainable future for generations to come across New York.

On June 6th from 9AM to 3PM, the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner’s Missing Persons Unit will host Missing Persons Day at their Manhattan office to support families searching for long-term missing loved ones in NYC. Families will have the opportunity to speak with professionals, provide DNA samples from close relatives, and connect with NYPD Missing Persons Detectives and identification specialists to help develop leads and potentially identify their loved ones.
If you know a family affected by a long-term missing persons case, please help spread the word about this important event.

PASSED! My social work bill with Senator Sutton has passed both Houses! This bill extends limited permits for LMSWs & LCSWs from 1 years to 2 years + an additional 2 years at New York State Education Department's discretion. With this legislation, we are easing the pathway to licensure for social workers without lowering standards, allowing them to study for their exams without having to worry about job security.
A special shoutout to Joshua Fleischer from Ohel Children's Home and Family Services for working with our office on this effort & to NASW New York for their advocacy. I look forward to seeing this legislation enacted to help strengthen and support New York’s social work workforce.

I was excited to attend the ribbon cutting of the new NY Sun Works Hydroponic Classroom at Bnos Malka Academy. This state-of-the-art lab brings hands-on sustainability and climate science education into the classroom, giving students the opportunity to learn science by doing, growing, experimenting, and exploring sustainability in a hands-on and meaningful way.

PASSED! My bill with Senator John C. Liu has passed the Assembly and is now moving in the Senate. This legislation ensures homeowners are notified when their STAR exemption application is approved, strengthening government transparency while giving families clear, timely information to better understand their benefits and plan their household budgets with confidence.
