For years, Brightwater Towers residents have dealt with objects being thrown from the West 8th Street station platform, creating ongoing safety issues for both them and any pedestrians below. My office, led by my Director of Constituent Services Solomiya Momot, took every incident seriously and consistently pressed the MTA to install a meshing barrier to help prevent these dangerous occurrences.

I’m proud to share that this year I funded this installation and this safety measure has been installed! Thank you to Brightwater Management and Community Board 13 for their continued efforts and partnership in getting this done!
