About the Artist:
After a lifetime as a professional vocalist/musician, Gene Reed began exploring photography shortly before the pandemic. That quiet period ignited another spoke in his creative wheel and transformed a growing interest into meaningful professional work.
He started photographing friends and colleagues in show business, which naturally led to more work, including headshots, and editorial images. His photographs have appeared on album covers, in periodicals, and in publications such as PEOPLE, TOWN & COUNTRY, VARIETY, THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER and FORBES.
His debut show, SPONTANEITY, reflects his approach to photography — being at the right place at the right time, camera slung on his shoulder, present in the moment, and capturing what naturally unfolds.

Artist Statement:
I draw inspiration from artists such as Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, Gerhard Richter, and Ed Ruscha, shaped by the deep influence of graphic design.
Across a multitude of mediums, I aim to balance wit and provocation, using humor, nostalgia, and a sense of play to transform everyday objects and imagery. My intention is to transform the familiar into something unexpected—both thought-provoking and playful.

I am a 25-year Bedford resident and have exhibited at the Katonah Museum of Art, as well as numerous galleries in the tri-state area.

Looking forward to seeing everyone after Thanksgiving! So much to be grateful for.
