It is very important that our young community members see themselves in the people who come to these career fairs, so if you have availability, please consider attending. IS 61 reached out and said the response to the request for professionals has been very low this year.

The architect has taken the energy created from his work in Brownsville and brought it to other projects. He is currently working on designing a space with Bobby Digi, the founder of the non-profit Canvas Institute, a Black-led multidisciplinary arts and culture space in Staten Island.

“What excites me in architecture is how we can work on different platforms and how it can bring different people and different disciplines together.”

Coming Soon to Brownsville: A Sleek New Garden Pavilion, Donated by Local Architect Manhattan Architect Ali Höcek has designed two community spaces in Brownsville pro-bono, all while building meaningful connections with the community.
