UNSRC Korean Cultural Society

The UNSRC Korean Cultural Society (KCS) successfully held its first in-person event since the pandemic 28 March 2024, with the cooperation of the Korean Cultural Center New York (KCCNY) and Kimbap Lab, to bring a unique cultural experience: a kimbap (Korean seaweed rice roll) making event! This event was a wonderful opportunity to dive into the rich culinary traditions of Korea and learn how to make delicious kimbap, a popular Korean dish. Around 30 KCS members and non-KCS participants attended the event at the KCCNY's beautiful new building with Dan Ahn from Kimbap Lab as the presenter/instructor.

The UNSRC Korean Cultural Society (KCS) is organizing a special virtual event titled "The Evolution of the Korean Film Industry Post-Pandemic" on 13 December at 7PM (EST).

Renowned executive producer from the Republic of Korea, Mr. Dongha Lee, known for the acclaimed film "Train to Busan," will share valuable insights on the Korean film industry's developments in the post-pandemic era.

As part of the club's plan to fully resume its activities after a 3 year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic, about 24 club members and 4 observers from the Korean Cultural Center enjoyed a doshirak (Korean lunchbox) lunchtime gathering on 3 August. The opportunity allowed for both old and new members to meet each other in person as well as discuss plans for upcoming events and other club related issues such as its new Instagram page. The Korean Cultural Center also offered its willingness to cooperate with KCS in any future events that may be if mutual interest. Many thanks to all the club members who took time to attend as well as the officers who prepared for the doshirak get together.
