Happy National Nursing Week!
As we celebrate Canada's National Nursing Week, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for each and every nursing friend and colleague. The theme for this year, "Changing Lives, Shaping Tomorrow," resonates deeply with the invaluable work we do every day.
Our unwavering dedication and compassion have touched countless lives, offering hope and healing to those grappling with physical challenges and mental health challenges. Through our skilled hands and caring hearts, we have been instrumental in changing the trajectories of individuals and families, guiding them towards a brighter future.
On National Nursing Week, I encourage us to reflect on the profound impact we have made and continue to make. Each act of kindness, every moment of active listening, and every intervention we provide has the power to transform lives. We are beacons of hope, guiding individuals through their darkest moments and empowering them to reclaim their lives.
Thank you all, for the unwavering commitment to excellence and dedication to the well-being of communities. Our contributions will forever be etched in the hearts of those you have touched.
Happy National Nursing Week!
Nightingale Initiative for Global Health
Nightingale Initiative for Global Health (NIGH) is a grassroots, nurse-inspired movement to increase
While health is a keen concern touching each one of us, most critical global health issues are under-reported, undervalued and poorly understood. Together with your contributions, the growing volunteer team of the Nightingale Initiative for Global Health (NIGH) is increasing global public awareness about health and nursing concerns— as well as empowering nurses and concerned citizens to collaborate with us.

Today one of the most iconic and trailblazers of gender equality in American History passed away. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a woman who has paved the way for the rights of every woman in America, your rest is remarkably earned and we will continue to fight and carry out your legacy.
“ The loss of Ruth Bader Ginsburg is devastating. Justice Ginsburg embodied justice, brilliance and goodness, and her passing is an incalculable loss for our democracy and for all who sacrifice and strive to build a better future for our children.
Every family in America benefited from her brilliant legacy and courage. Over the course of her quarter century as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, Ruth Bader Ginsburg became an icon, inspiring people around the world with her tenacity, towering intellect and devotion to the American promise of equality and opportunity for all. Her tireless advocacy in the fight for gender equality, whether working at the ACLU, arguing cases before the Supreme Court or authoring thoughtful and historic opinions and dissents as an Associate Justice, leaves an enduring legacy of progress for all women. Her opinions have unequivocally cemented the precedent that all men and women are created equal.
We must honor Justice Ginsburg’s trailblazing career and safeguard her powerful legacy by ensuring that the next Associate Justice of the Supreme Court upholds her commitment to equality, opportunity and justice for all. May it be a source of comfort to her children, Jane and James, her grandchildren Paul, Clara, Miranda and Abigail, and loved ones that so many people around the world mourn their loss and are praying for them at this sad time. »
