What do Amanda Seyfried, Joey Bada$$ and Gloria Steinem have in common? They all support my CREEP Act.

Stalking destroys lives, but New York’s laws still leave too many survivors vulnerable. The CREEP Act modernizes our laws for a world where harassment has gone digital.

As we expand access to childcare in New York, it’s crucial that childcare centers are safe for all our kids, including those with allergies.

That's why Linda B. Rosenthal and I introduced a bill to ensure all childcare centers have epinephrine devices and know how to use them.

Congress hasn’t passed legislation to protect kids online since 1998. And we already know Big Tech always puts profits over children's safety.

Meanwhile, the gaming and social media platforms where our kids spend so much time are failing to protect them from predators. One investigation found over 13,000 instances of child exploitation on Roblox in just one year.

That’s why I'm proud to have passed the Stop Online Predators Act (a.k.a. the Safe By Design Act). It protects our kids and protects our privacy.

My bill holds Big Tech accountable for the safety of their products by requiring them to:

- Prevent adult strangers from privately messaging young kids or viewing their location.
- Set kids’ profiles to private by default.
- Limit financial transactions between kids and unknown adults.
- Ban dark patterns—those deceptive features that trick you into doing things like sharing sensitive info.

In the last few years, we’ve fought for—and won—landmark regulations on addictive algorithms, predatory data collection, and advanced AI. With my ‘Stop Online Predators Act,’ we’re once again sending a clear message: New York will always prioritize our kids’ safety and privacy over Big Tech’s profits.

On Friday, June 5th, we’ll be at Brooklyn Borough Hall hosting a free shredding truck! Bring two boxes of any old documents, files and paperwork for disposal. Be sure to remove clips, plastic or household waste before you stop by.

You pay taxes. I pay taxes. Why aren't the world's wealthiest corporations paying taxes?

This week in Albany I was honored to be joined by Antonio Diaz and his family as we recognized his induction into the New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame.

Born and raised in Sunset Park, Tony joined the Army at 19 where he served as an 11 Bravo Infantryman and rose to the rank of Specialist; he was also a trained Combat Lifesaver, assisting wounded soldiers. Tony served 18 months of hot zone combat in Iraq and proudly served 10 years in the Army. Tony honors the friends lost in service by supporting fellow veterans at home in Sunset Park.

Tony has been a member of the NYC Department of Sanitation for nearly a decade. He continues to support his community as an active Sunset Park Lions volunteer through community health initiatives, youth development services, essential resources like food drives, and various cultural celebrations that uplift New Yorkers of all ages.

We honor and thank Antonio Diaz for his service and remember with him the friends who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
