A cleaner environment and access to our waterfronts are essential for environmental justice communities like the ones I represent.

Today, I was happy to offer remarks at the Long Island Sound Day breakfast hosted by Save the Sound. We must do all that we can reduce pollution and improve sustainability in the waterways that flow aside our communities.

The markets at Hunts Point serve as the world’s largest food distribution center. Their operations are essential to ensuring food access locally, across the Northeast, and beyond.

Last week I was happy to join Council Member Justin Sanchez, Council Speaker Julie Menin, and colleagues for a tour of the Hunts Point markets, to learn more about the work being done their and of their needs to help keep operations moving smoothly.

Museums are not only major economic generators for NYS, they’re places of learning, reflection, and exploration for all communities. It is vitally important that we support our museums so they can continue to do all the amazing things they do for NY!

Today, the New York State Senate passed the 2026 Women of Distinction resolution.

I am proud to honor Ms. Dana Elden, the president of the St. Mary’s Park Houses Tenant Association. For many years, Ms. Elden has been an amazing leader for the residents of St. Mary’s Park Houses, and for the community she calls home. Congratulations!

Today I was happy to meet with Housing Justice for All coalition members who traveled to Albany to advocate for increased funding for the Housing Access Voucher Program.

The 29th Senate District is greatly impacted by housing insecurity, and I am grateful for the coalition’s strong support for HAVP and other important measures.

Our hardworking and dedicated teachers are committed to the success of students in our community and across New York State.

On Teacher Appreciation Day, we say Thank You to our local teachers for their hard work, caring, and kindness!

The 29th Senate District is filled with many unique and wonderful neighborhoods, and we feel it’s important to have our constituent services team in the community, reaching our constituents closer to where they live.

For many years I have been proud to host mobile constituent services hours to help ensure our residents can access the services they need. See flyers for the dates and locations of our upcoming off-site constituent service hours for the month of May.

Today, the New York State Senate passed my Resolution J.1934, which recognizes May 2, 2026 as I Love My Park Day in the State of New York.

I Love My Park Day brings New Yorkers from across the state together in the spirit of service and volunteerism for the care and stewardship of our beloved parks and green spaces.
