Save Supportive Housing! π
Last week, BCHS representatives joined hundreds of other supportive housing advocates and tenants for The Supportive Housing Network of New York's annual Albany lobby day to make our voices heard! As a coalition, we advocated for funding parity for the New York State Supportive Housing Program (NYSSHP) to provide adequate services to our tenants, critical funding for the Homeless Housing Assistance Program (HHAP) to create and preserve supportive and affordable housing, and supporting the campaign of a targeted inflationary increase.

Thank you to everyone who helped us make an impact on our Brooklyn neighbors in 2025! This year, we were able to help 1,600 families, veterans, youth aging out of foster care, senior citizens, and more find hope and healing.

Have you heard of our Brooklyn Housing Assistance Center (BHAC)? π
BHAC was founded in 2013 to combat the rising need for eviction prevention services in our community. The important work of BHAC helps everyday people stay in their homes and avoid shelter or the street. Last year, BHAC case workers prevented 338 evictions in Brooklyn.
Help us keep our community housed today. π https://bchands.org/donate/

π Trick or Treat π
Our activities team turned our courtyard into a pumpkin patch for our annual pumpkin picking activity! Residents across programs got to pick their favorite pumpkin to carve and decorate. Thank you to Haley from Oliver Wyman and our wonderful youth volunteers from The Service Collective for helping us get in the Halloween spirit!
