Serving & Assisting Social Adult Day Care Centers & MLTCPs Statewide

Amid the current uncertainties surrounding Managed Long-Term Care (MLTCs), there's a growing recognition that securing Medicaid provider numbers for Social Adult Day Care (SADCs) may become crucial should the MLTC system undergo changes next year. To navigate this potential transition effectively, we're considering pooling resources to hire a lobbyist who can assist in obtaining Medicaid provider IDs for SADCs. Recognizing that strength lies in unity, this collaborative effort aims to not only amplify our influence but also reduce costs.
Each participating entity can anticipate a monthly contribution of a couple of hundred dollars, which will be held in an escrow account managed by the lobby firm. Our goal is to initiate interviews with one of the top firms specializing in this area, particularly those with representatives who have served on government boards in the state, during the second week of April.
It's crucial to emphasize that we'll be working closely with centers and board members associated with the Coalition for NYC SADCs. This endeavor is not an opportunity to rely solely on others, as may have been the case during the pandemic. Failure to collectively engage could result in significant challenges and potential closures by next summer. Let's act decisively to safeguard the future of our centers and the vital services they provide. Obtaining Medicaid provider IDs will not only enhance the value of each center but also validate them in the eyes of the state.
