A lifelong resident of Jersey City, June currently resides with her husband Sam in the Lafayette section of Jersey City. A mother of 3 and grandmother of 5 and Community Activist since 1996. June is a retired New Jersey State Board Certified, Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner for over thirty-five years; June served as an administrator for United Children’s Hospital for more than twenty years. She is the Founder and currently serves as the President & Executive Director of the Morris Canal Community Development Corporation, a 501C 3, community based, nonprofit organization committed to community service, building quality housing and advocating for affordable housing for low, moderate and workforce families.
In 1999, June was instrumental in creating the language of “Community Empowerment” which was incorporated into the Morris Canal Redevelopment Plan; the first community organization in the state of New Jersey; the first organization in the state of New Jersey to identify an organization in a redevelopment plan.
