Grateful for every partner and volunteer who helped us ensure families across East Harlem and the South Bronx have what they need for a meaningful Thanksgiving. Your generosity, heart, and dedication are the true spirit of community. This labor of love has been one of the greatest blessings of my time in office. ❤️🦃

This weekend, we proudly honored two giants of our communities with co-namings in the South Bronx and East Harlem.
Gregory “DJ n Pops” Nichols was the heartbeat of the Patterson Houses — a mentor, community builder, and a source of joy.
Ethel Battle Velez was a fearless advocate for public housing residents — a leader whose decades of service uplifted generations.
Their legacies live on in the streets that now bear their names — and in the hearts of all they touched. 🕊️🕊️

Remember this November: your power to protect affordability in your neighborhood is at risk from Mayor Adams’ misleading Proposals 2, 3 and 4. They take away your power to make sure local development includes housing that is truly affordable and comes with key funding for childcare, parks, and other neighborhood benefits.

Don’t give away your say on neighborhood decisions to unelected appointees and developers.
