Meet Byron Taylor, Music Teacher at Promise Academy I High School! Byron began his journey at HCZ as an ELA Tutor in 2021. Within a year, after being recognized for his talent as a singer-songwriter, he was encouraged to pursue a Music Teacher role. Four years later, Byron continues to grow as both an educator and musician while helping scholars explore their creativity and confidence through music. Our Promise Academy Student Council hosted Pages of Possibility: The Community Book Drive! 📚 Through this initiative, our scholars distributed 100 books to Harlem residents, spreading their joy for literacy across our community.

HCZ’s Class of 2026 made their college decisions official at ! Hosted by our College Success Office, the event brought scholars from across the Zone together at The HCZ Armory to celebrate their college commitments, learn more about campus life and financial aid opportunities, enjoy live performances from their classmates, and win prizes. Their families and our staff members were there to cheer them on. Next stop: graduation! Congratulations to our seniors — we’re so proud of you! 🎓✨
