This Sunday, hundreds of Staten Island residents and businesses alike joined my office, Councilman David Carr and SI Small Business Development Center, to dispose of their personal documents safely. We are exceptionally proud to note that a massive 3.69 tons of documents were shredded on site and kept out of the hands of scammers!

With warming weather and Staten Islanders reveling in the fresh air, we know it’s more important than ever to care for our green spaces. That’s why I was happy to stop by Snug Harbor yesterday to thank their staff and community volunteers for taking time out of their weekends to clean up this beloved recreational site!

Today we honor Annette Esposito, a woman whose life was defined by service, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her community in Port Richmond. She taught us that the strength of a neighborhood comes from how we care for one another, and she embodied the very best of Staten Island through faith and selfless giving.
It is deeply fitting that her name will now remain forever in the neighborhood she loved so dearly. Annette’s legacy lives on in all those she uplifted, and her example will continue to guide us for years to come.

RCDA and volunteers from the Luv on a Leash therapy dog program recently visited to help spread the message of showing kindness, compassion, and responsible care for animals. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with students and share how small acts of kindness can make a big difference in the lives of animals. Thank you to P.S.18 for welcoming us and helping inspire the next generation to treat all animals with care and respect.
