Almost 8 years ago we stood together to make a difference and I believe we did just that. This has been an incredible honor for me to serve as Council Member for the greatest district in the city. My family and I want to wish everyone a blessed, happy and healthy New Year. May the road forward into 2022 be paved with the friendships we have made together!
NYC DOT is giving our community a traffic signal at 35 Ave and 171 St by PS 32 and all way stops signs at 35 Ave and 157 St near St. Andrew Avelino! A great gift just in time for Christmas!
Yesterday, the Council unanimously passed legislation approving the conaming of three streets in our district after Ann Jawin, Marjorie Ferigno, and former Queens Borough President Claire Schulman. These are true Queens heroes that will now have their names engraved on our community for generations to come.

Today, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the long awaited renovations at Bay Terrace Library! Bay Terrace deserves a state of the art library for all who use its services. A full modern renovation with upgraded technology and added space for local teenagers will allow more residents to experience the wonderful programs the Queens Public Library has to offer. I am glad to have funded this in partnership with so many of my colleagues in government who all realize the importance of libraries to our communities.

It's always a treat to see the wonderful work done by PS 94 faculty and students! The Robo-Panda program is always impressive, and today was no exception with a hackathon focused on climate change solutions. There's a bright future ahead for these students!

Thank you Marriott Hotels for your generous donation to Whitestone Merchants to help businesses impacted by the historic flooding from Hurricane Ida earlier this year. These donations go a long way towards helping out mom & pop stores that have suffered these past few years.

I am proud to advocate for safer streets in Whitestone and across my entire district, and I’m happy to see that the Department of Transportation was able to approve this much needed stop sign in our community. Safety has always been a top priority during my time as Council Member, and projects like these make me glad that I was able to leave my district safer than when I entered office.
DOT to install all-way stop sign in Whitestone following lawmaker's decade of advocacy – QNS.com The city's Department of Transportation announced that a long-awaited all-way stop sign is coming to Whitestone next month.
I am proud to announce that NYC DOT has approved a stop sign at the corner of 12th Road and 150th Street in Whitestone. I have been fighting for this since my first year in office in 2014 and I am glad that it will be installed within the next 2 weeks.
