Judge King attended the annual mid- year conference of the National Association of Women Judges (NAWJ) in Washington DC on May 2-4, along with women judges from all over the United States. Judge King is the President Elect of the New York chapter of NAWJ. Highlights of the trip also included presentations by speakers regarding the recent amendment to the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) which allows for the prosecution of violent crimes against women, and a tour of the United States Supreme Court which included a reception in which Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg attended.
