2019 is the 25th Anniversary of the 1994 Rwanda Genocide. Another landmark year to remind ourselves and the whole world of what happened and to dedicate ourselves to bearing witness and crying out together against the latest examples of these crimes.
We must never tire in our outrage or be lulled into silence!
We remember the 800,000 - 1,000,000 human beings who died in Rwanda back in 1994 over the span of just 100 days . Today marks the 24th Anniversary of the start of the genocide against the Tutsi and those who stood with them. We remember.
This last year we lost two beautiful souls from our acting company who helped develop this play over the course of eight years, Fritz Weaver who played Mark Twain and Owiso Odera who was our Raymond. I cannot begin to express how central both of them were to our journey, and how profoundly they are missed. They both gave and gave and gave, and I will always be beholden to them both.
