It was a great evening yesterday, as we packed out Boxers NYC in Hells Kitchen to support Letita James for New York State Attorney General. Tish is one of the one NYS elected leaders I am proud to say I have stood with in my many hats & roles over the years. As an elected official, political staffer, community organizer and now a civilian. Don’t Forget To Vote!

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to take the lead on helping the Communications department (that I am apart of) prepare to host our 1st inaugural brunch. In preparation, I had hung pride progress flag banners outside of our NYC office building at school.
Later that evening a man destroyed them and set them on fire. A registered & confirmed hate crime had occurred, right in broad day light on the UWS.
While disappointing to face this reality- it reminded us as to why this month is more important now more than ever. I was very proud of how the university, my colleagues and the community condemned such hate & rallied together to make today’s pride celebration bigger, louder and special on so many fronts. Today, we recognized the resilience, contributions and determination of the LGBTQ+ community through action and celebration, while reaffirming our fight towards advancing diversity, equity and inclusion.
A good day indeed. Happy Pride!🌈
