Content warning: This episode discusses sexual violence.

A civil lawsuit alleges a former Cornell student, identified as Jane Doe, was drugged and assaulted by seven Chi Phi fraternity members in October 2024. The DA, who originally declined to bring charges, has reopened the investigation, and the state attorney general is reviewing Cornell's response. The men involved have not been criminally charged.

The case raises larger questions about justice for survivors and accountability for those in power.
It reached the national spotlight only after student reporters at Cornell dug into it. But shouldn't that have been the job of campus police and prosecutors?

Sexual violence is shaped by who holds power, who is believed, and which institutions are built to protect themselves. How does the law help or hurt survivors? What would real accountability look like for the accused, for the university, and for the systems that decide whose complaints are taken seriously?

Stop Wall Street looting!

Call, write, or visit your U.S. Senators and Representative to co-sponsor and pass the Stop Wall Street Looting Act that will protect our communities, hospitals, and housing from the predatory exploitation, massive profits, and obscene corruption of private equity firms.

Just introduced by Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Rep. Pramila Jayapal, with 14 other members of Congress, this landmark legislation holds private equity firms accountable for the devastation they cause, protects worker pay and pensions when companies go bankrupt, ends extractive financial practices, and increases democratic accountability.

Demand an end to the crisis for working class communities! Pass the Stop Wall Street Looting Act now!

Call 202-225-3121 today and ask for your U.S. Senators and Representative. Link in comments.

Then, fill in your info to send a short letter to your elected officials. And please share with your coworkers, friends, family, and neighbors.
