Today, Palestinians commemorate the 50th anniversary of Land Day. A day of resistance against Israel’s colonization, land theft, dispossession, displacement, and ongoing Nakba.

Land is central to our collective identity, being, and survival as a nation. The land that we nourished with our hands for centuries holds the memories of our ancestors, the sorrows of our elders, and the future of our children.

Everyday is a Land Day in Palestine.

Today we observe Mother’s Day across the Arab world 🌺

We honor and celebrate Palestinian mothers who are the spine of our steadfastness—who have maintained Palestine and its people for generations amidst dispossession, fragmentation, and ethnic cleansing.

We honor all Palestinian mothers who have buried their children wrapped in white shrouds, who have endured unimaginable loss with unwavering grace, who are languishing in jails, and who continue to carry the weight of our struggle on their backs and forever in their hearts.

Our mothers are the forefront defenders of our land and life.

“Palestine belongs to the Palestinian people. It is not up for grabs. And it is not for sale. It is not a land without a people. And despite all its efforts, Israel will not transform us into a people without a land. The latest Israeli decisions mean we have reached the end of the road. Now annexation is in full display. This Israeli government considers us alien to our own land, refuses to recognize our existence as a nation. It claims to be defending civilization by oppressing us and denying us our fundamental rights. It might think why does the world care about the fate of the barbarians. There is something fundamentally racist about this colonial narrative underlying all these illegal policies.”

The international community is united in condemnation of Israel’s unilateral decisions and measures and in calling for their immediate reversal. Over 85 States and international organizations underlined their strong opposition to annexation and reiterated their rejection of all measures aimed at altering the demographic composition, character and status of the occupied Palestinian territory.

“There is a prime minister of an extreme government coming to Washington, D. C., challenging everyone to impose annexation and to take the land of the Palestinian people. We hope and expect that the powerful partners in this regard will stop Israel from getting away with this very a violation of international law.“

“During the final months of the Israeli onslaught, the number of babies dying on the very same day that they were born in Gaza was 75% before this war on our people began. That is why no one welcomes the ceasefire more than the Palestinian people in Gaza. But Israel has yet to cease fire.Since the 10th of October alone, nearly 400 Palestinians have beenkilled.”

“It is difficult to convey what it means to speak here on behalf of the people of Palestine as they endure genocide.

This is one of the most documented crimes in modern history. Live-streamed for all to see.

Recorded by those suffering, in the hope that the world watching would act — and even recorded by those committing the crimes, confident they will never be held to account.

Which one of them will we prove right? The victims or the perpetrators?

Peoples around the world mobilized against this genocide.

Human rights organizations, UN experts, and many states recognized this genocide. And we are gathered here to speak of the prevention and punishment of that very crime.

But where were the measures to prevent genocide in Palestine? Where are the measures to punish it?”
