Today, your 9th Precinct Crime Prevention Officer and the newly formed Domestic Violence Detective Squad conducted an outreach and provided crime prevention flyers and domestic violence assistance to the community.

Engaging in proactive community outreach, educating seniors on safety measures, collaborating with community stakeholders, and promoting awareness about crime prevention best practices.

Our supportive Auxiliary members were present to assist with St. Brigid's Good Friday Procession.

I’m sure you’ve seen the new Crime Prevention Officer in the neighborhood. He’s making his rounds at Wegman’s, Trader Joe’s and CVS sharing crime prevention tips with the community. If you see him around give him a shout.

We honor the memory of Detective Shaniqua Osborne on the ninth anniversary of her untimely passing. Her nineteen years of service stand as a testament to her devotion. The warmth of her smile remains a comforting presence, and her extraordinary spirit continues to inspire many. As we remember her enduring influence, we hold her dear in our thoughts and prayers, wishing eternal peace for our beloved Shaniqua.

The Auxiliary Officers, known for their helpful nature, were distributing informational flyers to passersby, emphasizing the importance of keeping personal belongings within sight to prevent loss.

To commemorate Women's Month, I hosted our 3rd Annual Women’s Luncheon for the fearless women who protect and serve our community. I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for their remarkable service and professionalism, which they demonstrate daily.

The weather is finally getting nicer so many people will be dusting off their bicycles. Remember a few of these tips so you can make sure you don’t lose it.

Registering it at your local Precinct with the Crime Prevention Officer.

Lock it up, never leave it unattended even if you’re only running into a store for a quick minute.

If possible lock it up in well lit areas at night.

Today, on the tenth anniversary of his death we remember Police Officer David Hofer, a kind and dedicated member of the NYPD and a beloved member of the 9th Precinct. After five years of service in New York City, Officer Hofer departed the East Village in 2014 to continue his calling with the Euless Police Department in Texas. Tragically, on March 1, 2016, while valiantly responding to an active shooter situation in a public park, he was killed in the line of duty. His sacrifice will always be remembered by those who knew him, and his legacy as a Fighting 9th alumnus will never be forgotten.
