It is currently snowing in the high elevation areas of Rocky Mountain National Park. Snow started to fall at Alpine Visitor Center around 5 p.m. last night and it is still snowing in areas above 10,000 feet in elevation.
In the lower elevation areas of the park, on both the east and west sides, expect rain today.
Trail Ridge Road is temporarily closed to thru travel. The road is closed on the east side of the park at Rainbow Curve and on the west side of the park at Colorado River Trailhead. Old Fall River Road is also temporarily closed.
Rangers will assess road conditions tomorrow. For updates on the status of Trail Ridge Road, call the recorded status line at 970-586-1222, follow us on the park's official social media pages, and check for alerts on the park.

πβ¨ Hunterβs Moon β October 7, 2025 β¨π
Get ready for a magical night sky! On October 7, the Hunterβs Moon will rise β and this year itβs not just any full Moon, but the first Supermoon of 2025. ππ
πΎ Known as the Hunterβs Moon, it follows the Harvest Moon and has long been a symbol of autumn, lighting the way for communities preparing for the colder months.
π As a Supermoon, it will appear larger and brighter than usual because the Moon is closer to Earth in its orbit.
π Best time to watch: shortly after sunset, as the golden Moon lifts above the horizon, reflecting beautifully on lakes, forests, and open fields.
Take a moment to step outside, enjoy the crisp autumn air, and witness this celestial spectacle that has inspired myths, stories, and traditions for centuries. πβ¨
