Being raised in Newark NJ and having attended Rutger’s College, then Law School, I certainly consider myself a Jersey boy.
My experiences over my lifetime have taken me to many places within the US, Europe and the Middle East. I’ve enjoyed every moment of it. When I return home to NJ, it still feels like home!
The first time I visited the Highlawn, my initial thought was “If I owned a restaurant, this would be my place”.
I am happy that Anthony Frungillo has purchased and transcended it into something more than it ever was.
Whether it’s for a casual drink with friends or a special dinner on Saturday night I can always count on a very enjoyable experience.
I must also say that in addition to great food and spectacular views the people who work there are so welcoming and friendly.
Sal Feli, the Operations Mgr. always has a warm greeting for me and never fails to tell me what dish is especially great that night.
And Nick, the Gen Mgr. and wine expert never fails to come over and tell me what wine goes perfectly with that dish.
The same could be said for everyone who works there. From the receptionists to the bartenders, to the wait staff. Everyone is just so nice.
Like I said earlier, I may not own The Highlawn but I sure am happy to be a valued customer there.

MEET THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE THE HIGHLAWN THE HIGHLAWN
GIANNA MARRONE-EVENT SALES MANAGER
I was born and raised in Monmouth County. I currently live In Millstone New Jersey.
I went to high school at Red Bank Catholic. Upon graduation, I attended the University of Rhode Island where I received a degree in Communications and Public Relations.
That, however, was not the original plan.
I was set on going to college and then going on to law school and eventually practice law.
That all changed when my mom passed away from cancer at the age of 50.
I was16 years old when I lost her.
Unfortunately, the last thing she attended in my life was my sweet 16 party; and I will never forget that day.
My sweet 16 is still one of the best days of my life; I will never forget watching my mom’s smile as I danced on the floor and then lit my sweet 16 candles.
After this hardship, I decided I wanted to be an event planner. I wanted to make people feel the same way I had felt when I was 16. I truly believe I have a personal connection to this field because of what I went through. I have the ability to make personal connections with all my clients whether it's a wedding, birthday, corporate event, or a shower.
I have been in this field since I was 17 years old working in Newport, Rhode Island, Boston MA, Princeton NJ and New York City.
And now…The Highlawn!
I started my career at The Highlawn when it was being renovated under the new ownership of Anthony Frungillo.
Anthony named me Event Sales Manager and I have been working here for over 2 years now.
The Highlawn is a home away from home for me. I am proud that I can say at 27 years old I am leading The Highlawn Event Sales team. It has helped fulfill a dream I’ve had since I was 16 years old.
I know my mom is extremely proud of me and is looking down on me every day.
Watching people have their events at The Highlawn and remembering that day for the rest of their lives is the greatest reward for my job.
I am absolutely thrilled to be part of such an amazing team, and an amazing place.
Thank you to all who have had events at The Highlawn and I've had the utmost pleasure working with you.
