At HELP Home Simpson, supportive housing means more than having a place to live. It means having independence, support, and the opportunity to move forward.
For Robert, moving into his own apartment meant having a place to call home while rebuilding relationships with his children and grandchildren.
“It’s a blessing,” he shared. “I got my own key now. I can cook my own food and come and go as I please.”
That sense of stability is what Fallon Torres, Director at HELP Home Simpson, and her team work to create every day.
“We try our best to make residents feel at home and provide hope and an opportunity for them to thrive,” Fallon said. “Any small step should be a victory.”

A stable home matters, but ongoing support is what helps people move forward.
At HELP ONE and Park Place, developed by HELP Development Corp. for families in need of affordable and supportive housing, that support is built in from the start.
Kimberly Martinez, an Early Childhood Clinician, supports families as they adjust, work through challenges, and find stability, all while pursuing her MSW.
“Supportive housing is important because when people are transitioning from shelter to independent living, they still need support. When a crisis happens, having someone they can go to for help makes a big difference.”

Residents and their families came together at HELP ONE for a day in the community room, with games, crafts, food, an Easter egg hunt, and a visit from Benny the Bunny.
This is what supportive housing looks like. Not just a place to live, but a space to come together, spend time with friends and family, and build a sense of community.
