One of the most diverse racial groups in New York City, residents represent more than 30 different ethnic groups and speak more than 50 languages. These communities shape the stories, creativity, and cultural fabric of Queens and NYC.
To celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we're highlighting recent FTH performances by incredible artists representing AAPI communities across the city and the world.

We had a blast on Sunday, closing out the weekend with modern nomadic music from Mongolia! Our audience was delighted to see performances by Tuvergen Band, along with FTH teaching artist Ling Tang, and special guest Suvda Khereid. Before the show began, the musicians shared about Mongolian musical traditions and instruments.

Thank you to all who joined Thursday’s free show! It was truly a stellar night of world-class chamber music.
FTH is proud to continue to be the Queens home of the Five Boroughs Music Festival and to share their music with this corner of NYC.
Special thanks to Orchestra of St. Luke's, baritone Joseph Parrish, pianist Margaret Kampmeier, and violinist Alex Fortes for their incredible performances in our gallery.
FTH is honored that this concert is a part of Carnegie Hall's United in Sound: America at 250 festival.

On April 29, we hosted our annual Grantees Celebration at Flushing Town Hall, where we were joined by our 2026 grant recipients, panelists, friends, family, and FTH staff members! In 2026, FTH awarded $207,500 to 25 Queens-based organizations and 10 individual artists for new arts and culture projects serving Queens through our Arts Grants for Queens regrant program, supported by the New York State Council on the Arts. Additionally, we distributed $250,000 of general operating support for 25 Queens-based performing arts organizations through our GO Queens Grant, supported by the Howard Gilman Foundation. We are so proud to invest in the artists and organizations that make Queens' cultural community thrive!
