Special Olympics Delaware (SODE) Special Olympics USA Games

The medals tell one story.

The discipline, friendship, families and courage behind them tell another.

At Woodburn, we recently celebrated the Special Olympics Delaware athletes and coaches who made our entire state proud. 🎉🥇⛹️🏊🏻🏃🏿‍♂️🎳

Many of them came home and jumped right back in to practices, games, other sports and all focused on continuing to excel.

It was great to see the teams, families and coaches reunited after such a successful and joyous Summer Games in Minneapolis earlier this summer. Small state, big statement. 💙💛

I was proud to join the Blood Bank of Delmarva to recognize September 4 as Delaware Blood Donation Day.

You never know whose life you might help save when you give blood, and that’s the beauty of showing up for one another.

It’s easy to make a difference this Delaware Blood Donation Day. Visit DelmarvaBlood.org to schedule your donation. 🩸

As Black Owned Business Month comes to a close, I wanted to spotlight someone building something incredible right here in Wilmington.
Say hello to Damani, owner of Studio Ten Fifteen— a hair salon that recently opened its doors and is already making waves in the community. Starting a business is never easy, and doing it young, Black, and bold takes real courage. I’m proud to know Damani and even prouder to support this dream in person.
If you’re in the Wilmington area, do yourself a favor and book an appointment. Great hair salon, great energy, and a business worth investing in.
Let’s keep showing up for each other. 🖤
