Tired of ugly tire tracks in your yard?

If you find yourself driving through the same area of your yard over and over, eventually you’re left with ruts, mud, and an eyesore.

Instead of spending a fortune on a new asphalt driveway, sometimes the simple solution is crushed stone. It creates a clean, durable access area for vehicles while costing just a fraction of a new paved driveway.

A practical solution that can make a big difference in the look and functionality of your property.

Sometimes you don’t need a whole new driveway — you just need the right solution for the area you actually use

🪨 A little character goes a long way.

There’s something timeless about a rustic cobblestone walkway. For this project, we created a natural-looking step and walkway using cobblestone to add both function and character to the landscape.

The irregular shape and natural appearance of the stone give it a look that blends right into the surrounding landscape while creating a durable, inviting path.

It’s the small details that can completely change the feel of a property

This lawn was in need of some serious attention, so we went to work restoring it from the ground up.

We focused on improving the soil, removing the damaged and thin areas, and preparing the lawn for new, healthy grass growth. Proper preparation is a huge part of getting a lawn established and giving the grass roots the environment they need to thrive.

A lawn restoration isn’t just about throwing down some seed and hoping for the best. The preparation, timing, seed, and follow-up care all make a difference.

The goal is a thicker, healthier lawn that the customer can enjoy for years to come.

Tired of constantly trimming big bushes, pulling weeds, and buying new mulch every spring?

There’s another option!

For this project, we replaced the traditional high-maintenance landscape with new perennial plants and crushed stone to create a clean, long-lasting look.

We installed commercial-grade landscape fabric between the soil and crushed stone to create a barrier that helps prevent annoying weeds from coming through.

The result? A landscape that requires far less ongoing maintenance — no large shrubs constantly needing to be trimmed and no yearly mulch replacement.

If you’re tired of spending time and money maintaining your garden beds, a low-maintenance landscape might be the solution.

Less maintenance. Less work. More time to enjoy your yard

Always makes for a nice workday when you’re working on the water.

One of our specialties is working on lakefront properties, especially the ones up on Steephills, where a lot of labor is often involved. We’re not afraid to tackle the job the old-fashioned way with manual labor when equipment isn’t accessible or practical to use.

A new patio designed for entertaining and making the most of the space.

For this project, the homeowner came up with a great idea: placing the new patio next to the shed so it could serve more than one purpose. The shed now provides added privacy while also creating the perfect spot to mount a TV for entertaining around the fire pit.

We installed a new patio with a fire pit centered in the space, creating a comfortable gathering area for relaxing, watching the game, and enjoying time with family and friends.

To complete the project, we installed sod around the patio, giving the area an instantly finished look. This allowed the homeowner and his family to begin using and enjoying the space right away without waiting for grass to grow.

This project is a great example of how thoughtful planning can turn an existing structure into a functional part of the overall outdoor living space.

A fresh landscape upgrade designed around the homeowner’s vision!

For this project, the homeowner selected the plants they wanted, and our team designed the best placement to create a balanced and attractive layout.

We installed each plant with care and added new mulch to give the landscape a clean, finished look while helping the planting beds retain moisture and stay easier to maintain.

Sometimes, the right plant selection combined with thoughtful placement can make a big difference. This project brought the homeowner’s vision to life while giving the property a fresh, polished appearance.

Did you know VJR Landscaping also installs landscape lighting? This project was much more than a simple yard improvement. We built a custom retaining wall around the pool area, creating a functional and attractive space with built-in seating where the homeowners can relax and enjoy time with family and friends.

The retaining wall helped define the pool area, improve the layout, and add structure to the backyard. But the biggest surprise came after the sun went down — we added landscape lighting to highlight the wall, seating area, and pool surroundings.

Now, the homeowners can enjoy their pool on warm summer nights with a comfortable place to sit, a beautiful outdoor setting, and lighting that brings the entire space to life after dark.

This was a unique project and a major upgrade for the homeowner — combining hardscaping, seating, and landscape lighting into one inviting outdoor living area.

From retaining walls to outdoor lighting, VJR Landscaping can help transform your backyard into a space you can enjoy day and night.
