STUDENTS THAT ARE PURSUING CAREERS OF PUBLIC SERVICE

Today’s Memorial Service honoring Sergeant Edward J. O'Grady Jr., PO Waverly "Chipper" Brown and Brinks Guard Peter Paige was held this afternoon at 4PM in Nyack. We would like to express our thanks to all who attended the ceremony and continue to honor the sacrifice of these three brave men.
We would especially like to thank everyone who participated, including the O'Grady, Brown & Paige families,Orangetown Police Chief Donald Butterworth , the Clarkstown Police Honor Guard, the Rockland County Emerald Society Pipes and Drums, the Rockland County PBA, the Police Chiefs Association of Rockland County, Rev. David Lothrop, Sheriff Lou Falco, Dan Gurniak for his wonderful voice, and all of the members of law enforcement, the Nyack & Rockland County communities and all of our elected officials. Another special thank you to Belleville Landscaping again this year for their generosity in making the site look beautiful.

The annual memorial ceremony honoring the memory of Nyack Police Sergeant Edward J O'Grady Jr, Police Officer Waverly "Chipper" Brown and Brinks Guard Peter Paige will be held on Monday, October 20th at 4PM at the memorial site on Mountainview Ave & Rt 59 in Nyack.
Please join us at this ceremony honoring the sacrifice of these brave men.

The O'Grady-Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund announces the recipients of their 2025 scholarship awards.
We will be holding our annual scholarship awards breakfast on June 14, 2025, at the Nyack Seaport at 10AM, to acknowledge these students and let them know that this memorial scholarship, founded to perpetuate the goals, aspirations and ideals that characterize these two tragically slain Nyack police officers, continue to live on through its recipients.

Terry Hutmacher, the Clarkstown Police Honor Guard, the Rockland County Emerald Society Pipes and Drums, the Rockland County PBA, the Police Chiefs Association of Rockland County, Rev. The annual memorial ceremony honoring the memory of Nyack Police Sergeant Edward J O'Grady Jr, Police Officer Waverly "Chipper" Brown and Brinks Guard Peter Paige will be held on Friday, October 20th at 4PM at the memorial site on Mountainview Ave & Rt 59 in Nyack.
We will also be unveiling a new street sign on Lydecker Street, next to Nyack Village Hall at 2PM on the 20th, honoring Officer Brown & Sergeant O'Grady.
Please join us at both events honoring the sacrifice of these brave men.

The O'Grady-Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund held our annual awards breakfast June 3rd at the Nyack Seaport and presented scholarships to 5 Rockland seniors heading to college in the fall, to pursue careers in law enforcement.
The recipients of the O’Grady-Brown Scholarships this year are:

Our thanks to our Guest Speaker Christopher Starttner, Director of the Rockland County police & Public Safety Academy, Virginia Colsey & Sheriff Lou Falco for their help with the program, & Congressman Mike Lawler, County Executive Ed Day and the Rockland County Legislature for providing certificates recognizing these impressive aspiring police officers.
