October Awareness — Standing Together, Standing With You

October is a time when we recognize both Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Domestic Violence Awareness Month. While these causes are different, they share something deeply important: people in our community who are facing difficult, often painful circumstances—and who deserve to know they are not alone.

The Nyssa Police Department extends our heartfelt support to those who have been affected by breast cancer, to survivors and those currently fighting, and to the families and friends who walk alongside them.

We also stand with victims and survivors of domestic violence. No one deserves to live in fear, be controlled, threatened, or harmed by someone they trust. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, please know that reaching out for help is an act of courage. You do not have to face it alone.

As members of this community, we have a responsibility to see one another, listen to one another, and support one another. Sometimes that support begins with simply letting someone know, “I believe you. I’m here for you. You are not alone.”

This month, the Nyssa Police Department stands with those affected by both of these causes. Our hearts are with the survivors, the fighters, the families, and everyone who continues to offer strength and hope.

Together, we can raise awareness, offer support, and remind our community that no one has to face their struggle alone.
