Commander Preston Ochoa, a former California Wing (CAWG) Civil Air Patrol (CAP) cadet and the current Commanding Officer of Strike Fighter Squadron 151 (“Vigilantes”), arrived in his F/A-18 Super Hornet to participate in a Pizza Meet & Greet event with CAWG Groups 2 and 5, senior officers and cadets. This event was open to all active and retired CAP members, as well as their families, providing a unique opportunity to engage with a current F/A-18 pilot and commanding officer who is also a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and the Naval War College.

During the event, Commander Ochoa shared insights from his journey as a former CAP cadet with Camarillo Composite Squadron 61 (Group 4), his experiences at the Naval Academy, and the responsibilities associated with commanding a Super Hornet squadron. He provided attendees with a firsthand perspective on the challenges and rewards of leading a unit that operates at the forefront of the nation’s aerial defense capabilities.
