Little Free Library Steward Story: "This Library was a gift to our rural community. It is on a quiet road (that's the Pacific Ocean in the upper left). The western false-front was chosen for the feel of it, and to hide solar collectors that store energy for motion-activated lights for night use.

"The three sides each have artistic embellishment ... The doors are soft-close self closing hinges that work perfectly. Of course dogs had to be recognized with a watering station because many of our neighbors walk their dogs by the Library. I think a delightful aspect of this project was that nearly 40 people helped fund it, and the Library is so well embraced by the community that I've only added a couple of books and taken one. Todd Bol, Creator of Little Free Library Movement, Dies at 62 He built a wooden box, filled it with books and stuck it in his front yard; today there are more than 75,000 like it in 88 countries, run under the honor system.

Bibliophiles! FYI, a neighboring Little Free Library in Davis was recently vandalized by someone promoting illiteracy, ignorance, and plain old bad manners. All of the books, including a whole row of children’s books, were stolen and replaced with garbage. See images from their library’s page below.
