At 3:00 PM today β°, βWe the Peopleβ πΊπΈ will be submitting 1230+ Signatures βοΈ to the Ocean City Town Clerk π in reference to the Emergency Ordinance π¨ that put a moratorium on Rental Licenses π in the R-1/MH Community.
The Residents of Ocean City π₯ have had enough π€ of the rogue Mayor and Council ποΈ who are making decisions that only suit their friends and donors π°, and not what is best for Ocean City π.
Enough is Enough β and when verified β
, this will stay the ordinance until a time when the people vote on it π³οΈ.
But the people already voted on this in July βοΈ. They didnβt want the Ban then β and they donβt want the Moratorium now! π«
They donβt want a cap or a limit π«. They want you to enforce basic rules equally and without discrimination βοΈ.
What they do want is a mayor and council to look out for the health and welfare β€οΈβπ©Ή of all Citizens in this town ποΈ, not just the few elites π who decided that they shouldnβt have to be bothered with tourists π§³.
What the people want is the Mayor and Council to uphold the democratic process π€ as they promised and stop pushing their radical agendaβ.
While we faced significant adversity π during this go around with half the town away π«, during the holidays π, away from our families π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦, in the snow βοΈ and rain β, we never gave up πͺ and there was more than one time we thought about it π€.
We thank all who stepped up and sacrificed π to help make a difference π and fight for what is right βοΈ.
Update: The number of signatures accepted by the Town Clerk is 1257.
