Yesterday, I had the opportunity to speak at the Otsego County Integrated Domestic Violence Court Community Partner Meeting.

Several years ago, New York State Supreme Court Justice Brian Burn established this specialty court. I’m sure he would say it was because he knew I would never stop asking him for a chance to provide our community with a life-saving response for those impacted by the various harms associated with domestic violence.

I had the privilege of supporting the creation of this speciality court and providing direct support to our participants. Shoutout the best Court Resource Coordinator in NY who continues be a huge part of why this program is so successful.

This work matters and saves lives.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Survivors deserve safety. Survivors deserve support. Survivors deserve solidarity. Survivors deserve ACTION.

Last week, the New York State Democratic Party State Committee unanimously passed a resolution I wrote.

This one is personal to me. Twenty-five years after 9/11, people are still living with the health consequences and this funding is continuously on the chopping block.

For elected officials, that means continuing to make government records public, helping people find the care and benefits they may qualify for, and reviewing laws that may need to change.

I want to thank Governor Kathy Hochul and the State Legislature for the three new laws extending 9/11-related deadlines and protections. That work matters, and there is still more to do.

When it matters most, New Yorkers show up for each other. That’s what New Yorkers do.

“Never Forget” cannot just be something we say. It has to mean we keep showing up.

Last week, I supported the passing of this resolution at the NYS Democratic Committee. For 20 years, I have supported survivors through direct services, advocacy, and legislative action.

I’m proud to continue to serve survivors in my role as the NYS Democratic Committee Member for our district, AD 122, and I will never stop being of service to my community.

Big tech doesn’t care about our local communities. They only care about making their investors richer by selling our nonconsensual data and violating our constitutional right to privacy. Period!

We're hoping the legislation I wrote can put an end to this in our community.

It's not every day that you're included in an article with Senator Chuck Schumer.
