Two Years of Service as Scott County Coroner

My goodness, how the Lord has blessed me with the opportunity to serve the citizens of Scott County. It’s hard to believe that two years have already passed since I was entrusted with this responsibility.

Serving as your Coroner has truly been an honor, and I have enjoyed every opportunity to help families and our community during some of their most difficult moments. I remain committed to carrying out the duties I was elected to perform with integrity, compassion, and professionalism.

Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged, and trusted me over these past two years. Your confidence means more than I can express, and I look forward to continuing to faithfully serve the people of Scott County. May God continue to guide me in this important work.

🚨 WE ARE LIVE: TEXT-TO-911 NOW AVAILABLE IN SCOTT COUNTY 🚨

Scott County residents can now text 911 in an emergency. This service is available through the Sikeston Department of Public Safety Communications Center and Scott City E911, providing coverage for the entire county.

📱 When should you text 911?
Text-to-911 is a critical option when:
• You are unable to safely speak
• You are in a situation where calling could put you in danger
• You are hearing/speech impaired
• You need to be discreet

📞 If you can call, always call.
Voice calls remain the fastest and most effective way to reach 911.

💬 How to text 911:
• Enter 911 in the “To” field
• Send a short message with your location and emergency
• Answer questions from the dispatcher promptly

⚠️ Important Tips:
• Do not include photos, videos, emojis, or group texts
• Keep messages clear and concise
• Stay with your phone and continue the conversation

This is a major step forward in improving emergency communications and accessibility across Scott County. We are proud to provide another way to reach help when it matters most.

❤️ Help is just a text away. We’re here for you.

With the winter storm approaching this weekend, we want to remind the public that if a vehicle is wrapped in caution tape as pictured below, we have checked on it and there is no need for deputy response.

If you see a vehicle that is roadside without caution tape please advise our office and we will check on the vehicle.

We urge the public to reduce travel unless absolutely necessary to help reduce the risk of motor vehicle accidents and injuries.
